I love all the intrigue and the mystery and the character relations, but I felt like this book was a little too slow. I wanted to see more of the world; the small scenes like the hunt were great, but too far between, and I would have preferred more time seeing the characters than seeing Chloe's thoughts about them.

This books aren’t amazing but they’re fun so I’m bumping them up to 4 stars.

It was a little slow paced, and has the tipical symptos of a second book in a trilogy. There were lots of informations, questions, and it's about how Chloe finds out who she really is, and who are her parents. Yep, the 3/4 of this book is about angst, wondering, but I enjoyed it completely. It wasn't such a light book than the first, there were a few bloody scenes, but it doesn't want to be a full-serious-drama story.
And now I am officially Team Brian.

Woah! That ending! S*** went down in this book. I loved seeing Chloe assimilating with the Mai and forming friendships. Seeing her sacrifice and determination was awesome. I love this series and can't believe I haven't read it sooner. The books are easy but fantastic reads.

Definitly better than the first one, the series is finally getting somewhere. About to start the third and I can't wait.
