Love a Fiona and Cake story and couldn't go past getting to see more Card Wars action! A lot of fun, highly recommend.

Confession time. I love Adventure Time and absolutely adore Fionna & Cake, so I was excited to dive into this comic. This trade follows Cake through the struggles of being a lady in a men’s game (Card Wars) and her journey to seriously competing in the upcoming tournament. There’s not much a plot to it other than that and it feels a little rushed. Ultimately it was a light-hearted adventure that highlights the importance of friendship, even in the heat of a competition. I still enjoyed it for what it was.

I enjoyed this more than Finn and Jake, but it's still not something I'm gonna seek out.

My favorite entry in the genderbent Adventure Time world of Fionna and Cake, Jen Wang does a grate job dealing with friendship, gaming, and the innate weirdness of Adventure Time! Check out more on my blog, Reading Rainstorm!

Picked this up from the kids' comics section at the library while they were picking out superhero books-- adorable!
