Love Jude and Reagan’s story. These two start out as strangers on a political campaign going against each other. Jude is a veteran who wants to help other veterans and do what is best for them. Reagan is someone who has been in politics for a while both for herself and due to her father and his career. They should hate each other as they are running against each other but some things can’t be helped.

I loved the story!! Reagan and Jude have some of the best tension and chemistry I have read in a long time! This is a fantastic enemies to lovers! Both of these characters are endearing and loveable! I didn't see the twists coming, and I loved the journey including the long torturous sexy slow burn

Despite it technically being a slow burn romance, this little scorcher was hot enough to make my kindle melt.

Despite having purchased this nearly 18 months ago somehow it had got buried on my kindle and I hadn't read it yet, gasp, horror. I really don't know why either because I've yet to read a Chelle Bliss book that I haven't really liked and enjoyed. However I had signed up to read Dirty Defiance and needed to read this first, hence it's unearthing from the depths. I'm pleased to say that this didn't break the pattern of being a hot, sexy and very enjoyable read.

Reagan is the daughter of the outgoing democratic senator and a career politician. In fact politics are her very life blood so she lives and breathes it. Jude is the hot AF ex-marine republican candidate challenging her for the seat. A series of planned meetings and bad scheduling events mean Reagan and Jude keep bumping into each other. Despite being political enemies their minds, bodies and souls have different ideas, so instead of fighting each other instead they fight their desire for each other. Until they don't. But how can they find their HEA when only one of them can win and the other must lose everything they've worked for?

Oh my Jude is one rough, tough alpha male, but with a respect for women that stops him shy of being arrogant or unappealing. Reagan is a wonderfully strong woman without being bitchy or inconsistent in her character. This pair put me in mind of James and Izzy from Resist Me, though the stories and characters are very different. The story totally drew me in, to the point that I ended up reading far too late into the night just so that I could finish it.

This couple have such an amazing chemistry and I loved that they took time to build their connection, rather than jumping straight into bed and love with each other. A lot of their relationship was conducted via text messages and face-timing, with the odd snatched evening or few hours together. I believed in their attraction to the other, and in the bond that they formed.

As long as you don't object to the occasional bad word or steamy scene then I would recommend this to you as a book that should not only be on your TBR list but should be on your kindle and next on your list to read.

I am so glad I picked this one up. It's a fun listen, but at the same time gives us all something to think about. Jude is running for office. A veteran, he is a no nonsense candidate with real experience with real people. His opponent, Reagan is the daughter of the current senator, so her life has always been around serving the people. But what these two don't anticipate is the chemistry between them. Bliss and Rothert have woven a wonderful enemies to lovers story with this plot, giving us not only a slow burning burning relationship, but the down and dirty grit of politics. It's fast paced, Reagan and Jude are amazing characters and I loved their story. What I also found intriguing was the back stories in each campaign. You wonder what goes on, and this gives us just a peek of what the actual politicians go through! What a ride! Loved it, and can't wait to move on to book two.

Sebastian York and Kirsten Leigh nail the narration. Perfect voices for the characters, a better team could not have been chosen!

Maybe I would have liked this more if I'd read pre-2016 election results, but as it was, I hated it

She had a platform built on prior political service, education reform, gun control, and a couple of other issues that she was asked to spell out in the book.

He had a platform based on being a Marine. He sounds like he was an awesome, kick-ass caring Marine that went above the call of duty, even for a Marine. But I had no idea what his point of view was on any issue. He was never asked any questions like she was, he was told he was hot and thanked for his service.

She seemed to really care about her job, until it was convenient for the plot for her to have only been doing it for her daddy.

And for a book called Dirty Work, I expected far more steaminess. A few frustrated make out sessions, a mutual masturbation scene (in the tub, so pretty much the opposite of dirty) and one sex scene? Not that steamy.

While this book is about two opposing candidates running for senate, there isn't a lot of political references other than what party each stands for which I thought was great. Often times it's hard to read a book and love it when you don't agree on the issues. This one left the issues out and let us focus on the smoldering relationship between Jude and Reagan. I loved their stolen moments and their banter was quirky and witty. Great read and I highly recommend this one.

Where do I begin with this one? I’m a huge fan of BOTH of these authors, so really it was a total no-brainer when people asked if I was going to buy and read it. HELLZ YEAH, sign me up!

Even the synopsis screams: ANGST! I mean, let’s look at the facts:
• They are running against one another;
• One’s Republican, one’s a Democrat
• One’s a decorated hero, one was born with a silver spoon in her mouth

But there’s so much more to it than the enemies-to-lovers aspect. I mean, Jude and Reagan definitely set the kindle on fire, but there was much more depth to their characters. It wasn’t just a “we shouldn’t be together”. There was fun text banter, unplanned schedule conflicts that brought them to the same events, and real losers out to discredit them. But there were so many tender moments between them that you could see their relationship strengthen with each speed bump along the way.

Bravo to you both! This is probably the most epic collaboration between two individually successful authors (excluding those that are marketed as a team). Now I just want more from this duo!

I’ve actually been in a serious book slump lately. I feel like I just can’t get more than a few chapters into a book before I realize it’s just not hitting the spot and I need to try something else. That was until I was sent Dirty Work by Chelle Bliss and Brenda Rothert to review. I’m a sucker for a romance with a politician but I was ready for a heroine who wasn’t an intimidated secretary.

I’m so glad I picked up this book, because I loved it! I’d never read anything by either Chelle Bliss or Brenda Rothert before but both seem to have quite a fan following separately. I can definitely say they were a solid writing partnership and I hope to read more by them together in the future. The writing transitioned well enough and each author gave Jude and Reagan a different tone and voice. While I didn’t know which author wrote which part, it was fairly clear when the style changed; regular readers of both authors will likely be able to pick it out.

If the idea of a book about politics is making you pause, you shouldn’t. This was simply a sweet, sexy story of two opposing candidates who should have been off limits to each other fighting their feelings while out on the campaign trail. The story seems like it’s going to start off as a classic “frenemies” to lovers but shifts gears pretty quickly to to be more like forbidden romance with a slow burn.

Jude is a veteran who is set on making a change and feels duty bound to run for office to fight for the rights of the regular citizen. He’s also a bossy, semi-alpha with a romantic streak and knows his feelings for Reagan aren’t worth fighting against. He didn’t waffle or fight his feelings for Reagan, I loved that he dove in with both feet even though being together could hurt both of their chances at election.

"Is it the thrill of the forbidden? Will you still want me once you've had me?"

He lowers his brows. "Once I've had you? You mean once we've fucked?"

I nod once.

A wolfish smile creeps across his face. "That's not having you, Reagan. To me, having you means you're mine, body, heart, and soul. It means we belong to each other."

I really liked Reagan at the beginning, she was strong and feminine but in no way a push over. She fought against the idea that her age made her inexperienced and that she was being elected on her name alone. So much of the first half focused on her wanting to be seen as hard working and not as someone falling back on her famous political family to build her own career. Whereas Jude was diving into a relationship with both feet Reagan was concerned about how it would work and she didn’t want to be perceived as compromising her integrity to reach her goals. Unfortunately, I felt that some of the decisions when made in the second half of the book didn’t match the Reagan we met in the first half of the book. To me, this made Jude a much stronger and more developed character than Reagan was.

Overall this was a great book with a sweet story that did a fantastic job at pulling me out of reading slump.
