This one, our goddess doesn't seem to be so much forgotten as lost for awhile. It was really cool to read another take and twirling of an Egyptian Goddess and her story.

I recommend this one along with Book 1 of The Forgotten series. Not 100% factual, the warping/embellishing of the tale is great and makes for awesome reading.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Really too short to develop any kind of story. The writing was pretty choppy. It's a shame - it was a good idea.

Daughter of the Sun by Laura Greenwood is a Egyptian Mythology story that I listened to on audio narrated by Sterling LeGrand-Carney. This is the second book in the Forgotten Gods series and can be read as a stand-alone.

I absolutely love Laura’s books! This story does end on a bit of a cliffhanger so I am looking forward to jumping into the third book in the series Servant of Chaos.

Sterling did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of her work in the future.

Stats
Writing: 6/10
Plot: 6/10
Characters: 6/10
World-Building: 6/10

For the writing, it was alright, but wasn’t amazing. I did love that everyone was telling Sekment to just get over her centuries of imprisonment and she was not having it.

For the plot, it was very short, so there wasn’t much room for an elaborate plot, but it was straight-forward and fun.

For the characters, Sekmet was alright, if a bit annoying. I didn’t really connect with her character much.

Lastly, world-building. Again, because it was very short, there wasn’t much room for an elaborate world-building, but I did love the idea that the gods lose their powers as people believe in them less.

Overall, it was a short, fun read, though I don’t think I’ll continue with the rest of the books.

Well written for a short book. Consistent characters. Does feel a little like nothing actually happens/lead up to something bigger.
