I had high hopes starting this one. The only reason it's not getting five stars is because it took me a few rough pages to get really captivated by the story. But I'm in now, and I'm reading the second book asap.
Loved loved loved the complex relationship between Elena and Lila. Saw a lot of myself at the same age : the jealousy, the admiration, the loyalty I felt regarding my friends.

I’m torn between sitting with this novel for a while, maybe reading something else (that will likely feel dull compared to this, like everyone else feels compared to Lila) or…immediately turning to the next in the series.

Characters, setting, pacing, prose, everything a five star. Bravo.

What passionate people. There seems to be a very fine way to write from a child's perspective totally respectfully, without making them sound any less intelligent and perceptive than children can be. She does this so well.

Estuve buscando libros italianos para leer y me topé con esta saga que en un principio no me llamaba mucho la atención (Especialmente por la portada). Es que siento que, como diseñadora gráfica, tiendo a prestarle más atención a estos detalles que para cualquier persona pueden ser insignificantes. Creo que pudieron haber hecho un mejor trabajo con la portada por tratarse de un libro como este.
La historia me atrapó de principio a fin. Creo que de los tipos de obras que más me gustan son los que tratan el tema de la amistad entre dos mujeres. Esta envidia, competencia y complicidad que hay entre las dos protagonistas son cosas con las que yo personalmente me identifiqué y es por eso que disfruté el libro bastante. La narración es tan fresca que la lectura no es pesada ni tan ligera como muchas obras más actuales. Pude imaginarme cada detalle en la historia del libro y eso es para mí una de las virtudes más claras que le doy a la autora.
Creo que una de las cosas que podría señalar de la lectura es la cantidad de personajes que hay. Si bien los nombres no son tan complicados, creo que a veces me perdía entre tantos personajes. Recomendaría tener apuntados los nombres para no perderse entre tanto apellido. Vi que al principio del segundo libro hay una especie de resumen de cada personaje y creo que eso calza perfecto con la memoria de pollo que tengo.
Definitivamente es uno de los libros que me gustaría leer en físico para dejar mi marca anotando cosas con las que me identifiqué o subrayar frases que me gustaron.
