'Love Addict' by Koren Shadmi is about the world of online dating and casual sex. It's a shallow enough topic, but I'd hoped the plot would offer more.

"K" has had a recent breakup and he's on the rebound. He has a friend who recommends a dating app called Lovebug. Soon "K" is dating and sleeping with all kinds of women. It becomes an addiction for him. He can't focus on work. Sometimes he confuses the dates he is with. He can't seem to have an ongoing relationship with one woman.

I'm not sure what the point of this graphic novel was besides drawing naked people. It seems like the author gets close to making a point, then veers away from it. This lifestyle seems to have a negative effect on his friend, but then the story veers off into more casual sex.

I received a review copy of this graphic novel from Top Shelf Productions, Diamond Book Distributors, and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this graphic novel.

K was recently dumped by his girlfriend. His roommate introduces K to a dating website called LoveBug to take his mind of the failed relationship. As K gains confidence, things spiral out of control.

The title of this book might have been better as Sex Addict. Love doesn't play much of a role in K's dates. At first he tries to get to know the women he is meeting and tries to gauge whether they would be worth having a relationship with. It soon becomes an easy access to sex for him and those thoughts go out the window.

This book did a great job showing how K's addiction forms and the aftermath of it. There is growth to the character, and a recession, that makes him interesting. The art is okay and can be graphic at times. The character isn't always likeable, nor should he be considering the situations that he puts himself and others in. Although the ending can be interpreted a couple different ways, I feel like it shows hope for K and leaves things at the right time.

the art is very impressive so kudos to that but the story/main character is pretty sexist. also a few of the dates definitely bordered on sexual assault so

Gross. Not the subject, but the main character.

The art was great; the introspection was not quite what I wanted. Shadmi is less introspective than easily made aware of his (or his character's) shortcomings by his close friends.
