When I first got this book off NetGalley, there wasn't a lot of info on it, and I didn't realize it was paranormal. I have read Spindler before and thought it sounded good and thought it really wasn't what I was expecting, I did enjoy it.

The story started off kind of slow for me, I really didn't get into it for a bit. Micki was all about worrying how much of a "pretty boy" Zach was and Zach was hiding too many secrets. I really started enjoying the book more when Micki learned most of the truth of what was going on, which was around 60% into it. I'm not big on liars, or withholding info, so I didn't like some parts at first, but overall it was pretty good.

The characters were likable, they weren't my favorite characters ever, but they were interesting and you wanted to care what was happening to them. It was quite a good book, if you enjoy paranormal at all. I will probably continue with the series to see what happens next.

Erica Spindler has done it again! The Final Seven, the first in a new series by Spindler, does not disappoint. Micki Dare, or Mad Dog Dare, is a cop and on the verge of discovering a new type evil, when she gets a new partner with special powers, Zach.

Zach, a member of the "the Sixers," has special powers that are supposed to help them solve cases. And did I neglect to mention, he's everyone's favorite eye candy, much to Micki's chagrin. Girls go missing and Dare and Zach are on the case. Will Micki learn to trust Zach and let him into her inner circle so they can solve the case together?

Spindler does a great job of building not only suspense and tension with the missing girls and the supernatural battle being played out, but also moving along the sexual tension that builds and grows between Zach and Micki. I can't wait to read more in this series, just to see what happens between them. I'm also looking forward to discovering what all the "Sixers" can do and more about Zach's mysterious family history.

*** I was given an advanced reader e-copy in exchange for my honest review

This was a trifecta of all my favorite things.... suspense, mystery and the supernatural. It was completely unlike anything she has written before and as much as I love her other books, I may like this even more! I loved that there was a strong female lead character paired with a sexy guy with supernatural powers...that was the perfect combination. I look forward to reading more of these intriguing and action-packed stories.

I won a copy of this book from the GoodReads Giveaways program.

I really enjoyed the idea of this story and this world. The characters were very well developed, you felt as if you'd gotten to know the main characters pretty well by the end of the book. It's also mixed two genres which I do love to read, cop mysteries and paranormal. If you like either one, I think you'd be a fan of this book. I also really loved the dynamic between the two main characters Zach and Micki. They played well off one another and as I was reading, I could just see this sort of Cop TV show playing out in my head. Bringing in the paranormal aspect of the story just enhanced it for me...people with special abilities beyond our understanding intrigues me and the fight of good vs. evil will never get boring. The ending made it obvious there would be more to the story, but not such a cliffhanger that we're left annoyed until book 2 comes out. I would definitely recommend this book to my friends and any readers of either genre.
