What an ending to this series! Sebestian and Yelena's story started off feeling a little like Romeo and Juliet. I had a few predictions for where this book might go, but Ms. Lark completely blew me away with where she took everything. The tension had my heart in my throat. I was on the edge of my seat. I can't believe that she was able to keep the intensity at that level for so long.

The characters from the pervious books all had their moments without detracting from the Sebestian and Yelena, which I appreciated. Sebestian's journey was explosive (literally). And the little connection between Yelena and Adia was just perfect.

I love Sophie Lark’s personality, I love her online presence, I feel like she’d be a fun time to hang out with. But, every time I finish one of her books, I feel as if something is missing. I wish there was more chemistry, or emotion, or angst between the characters. I feel that the series is lacking that emotional depth and turmoil in it. Except for Stolen Heir, that one was *chef’s kiss.*

Sebastian and Yelena are the Romeo and Juliet of the mafia, in a sense. Two star crossed lovers whose families are at odds. He saves her from getting kidnapped one night, and falls in love with her fight. She just falls in love with him. Yelena hates her father, what he’s making her do to the one person she knows actually loves her. If Sebastian finds out, will he still love her like he does now?

Highlights:
📌Mafia
📌Romeo + Juliet Adjacent
📌Touch her and Perish

Heavy Crown is the 6th and final book in the Brutal Birthright series. This book is told from dual points of view by Sebastian and Yelena.

Sebastian and Yelena meet when Yelena is being attacked. He goes to help her. They exchange numbers. Once he figures out she's the daughter of a Bratva boss in Chicago he decides to forget about her. However, Yelena's father has other ideas and wants Yelena to get with Sebastian to get to their family mafia.

Sebastian bids on Yelena and ends updating her. He starts to fall for her, but Yelena is hiding a secret. When Yelena's father turns on Sebastian's family, Sebastian wants revenge.

Will Sebastian be able to forgive Yelena for her family's wrongdoings? Whose side will Yelena choose? Will Sebastian and Yelena get their happily ever after?
