Easy read. Not scary. Abrupt ending.

Again Qwill needs to move, and this time he finds a place to live with an "antique" dealer. Or junk dealer. Koko and Yum Yum find more mischief, as usual.
What I don't like is the attitude to women. What I like a lot are the descriptions. Every now and then Lilian gives real poetry :-D

I just love these little stories written in the 1960's. It takes me to that time and way of life. It will be interesting to see how this series continues when it jumps forward to the 1980's when Braun continued writing these stories. I wonder if I'll get a kick out of them anymore.

As quaint a time as one can have while still reading a murder mystery. Braun manages the unlikely but charming pairing of newspaperman as inadvertent detective and cat as crime solver well. I especially appreciate that Koko is basically having mood swings and not allowing the routine of his prescience to get stale. There are still sentences that make me wince; chalk that up to the 1968 publication date.

This one was a tad more predictable than is usual for Braun. Must admit that I did learn a good deal about antiques in this one - AND we get to learn the backstory of Mrs. Cobb!

These books are sort of formulaic, but they're great and easy to read and a nice change of pace after reading heavy lit. Duh, going to continue to read the sequels, how could I not?
