It was a slow start, but once you got past the first couple of chapters the story really picked up. It was a lot of fun, and very different from her other books.

Stephenie Meyer is best known for her Twilight books, but you should go into this book knowing that it is definitely not the same kind of story. But different is not a bad thing! It’s fun to see the author in a different genre but still telling a great story. I’ll admit, this book was a little slow to get into. In the beginning it’s just the main female character, who has been in hiding for 3 years. She’s very much a loner, and keeps changing the name that she goes by, so it can be a little confusing. The story only gets better from there though, so don’t let the beginning scare you away. We meet more characters and the story gets more complex. There’s a romance that develops, but it’s done in a way that works into the thriller so that it’s not the main focus. It’s nice to see a strong female character who uses her brains to make up for any physical weaknesses. We also see her grow and evolve as she learns to develop relaionships and trust with other people. I don’t want to give much away, but I’ll say that the farther into the book I got, the harder it was to put down! Whether you’re into thrillers, romance or just a fan of Stephenie Meyer’s other books, this one is definitely worth reading.

This book was a page turner for me. I enjoyed the story and all the twists. I didn't really buy the romance. The characters had their guards up a little too high for a romance to develop that quickly.
