This is a short, fast paced story filled with likeable characters and just a little danger. Ginger is feisty and Jack is all alpha male. This is a great start to a series and I look forward to reading more about the shifters in North Dakota.

Not Much To It

I mean it felt a bit more like a summary with dialogue than a story. There's very little in the way of character development. As far as what's on the page the characters know each other about as well as I know the clerk at the gas station I use, which means really not at all beyond vague chit chat when you're checking out, and then bam they're mating for life and having a baby. I'm sitting here thinking huh?

Shifters, a mating bond, great chemistry, and even a bit of danger all wrapped up in a quick, engaging tale. This first in a series of short, shifter stories sets the bar pretty high for what's to come. It's easily read in one sitting, which is a good thing because the pacing and story keep the pages turning. It's impossible not to fall a bit for Jack with his charm, and I love feisty heroines so Ginger is perfect for this romance. She speaks her mind and takes no guff, but it's not overdone. The mating bond so prevalent in shifter stories is present, but it's not really the focus. Rather than it being the topic of every conversation, it's more implied, letting the terrific chemistry between Jack and Ginger grow into something almost tangible. We also have some danger to add to the excitement and further compliment an already entertaining read. All in all, a great start to a promising series.

Started off really well, then it was over and felt like half the story was left out and rush to the finish.

I'm all for short stories but they need to be whole
