This was such a great issue! I love America Chavez from West Coast Avengers and it’s so exciting to get to read more of her, especially with this background on her origins and family. The plot points that were set up (like the problems with her powers, and her ongoing relationship with Ramone Watts) were well introduced and I already feel invested in the story. Big points to the writing and dialogue, too- it’s witty and to the point without feeling try-hard, and I feel like the tone fits well here. Plus, seeing more Kate Bishop?? WITH America?? DOING COOL AVENGERS STUFF AND BEING BADASS FRIENDS?! Be still my beating heart.

A very good start! Much better than America's last series!

I never finished West Coast Avengers as Kelly Thompson's writing really isn't my favorite style. That being said, I'm assuming that's where America'a girlfriend Ramone was introduced. There's a not a lot of insight into her character in this book, but she seems nice. Obviously, she cares about America.

I'm glad we're FINALLY getting more background on America's childhood and how she found her way to earth pre Young Avengers. Definitely checking out the next issue!

I enjoyed the Gabby Rivera run of America so when I saw that there was a new comic about Ms Chvez I jumped at the chance to read it.

It's a good start to her origin story and I can't wait to read the next instalment!

I'm always down to read an America Chavez book! Seems like we never get enough of her. And this seems like we have a mystery on our hands!

Going to continue this, hoping it's better than the first volume of the previous America Chavez series.
