I wasn't gripped by the beginning, and really this hasn't been my favorite read this year, but it was still decent. Cadence was a mostly interesting character, and the mystery of Grey's family and Fane's Cove was pretty cool, but it felt a bit slow. The sequel should be better, based solely on where this one ended.
