This book is SO intense. Sickeningly graphic fairly frequently, but I'm really glad I read it.

This book was a really difficult read. None of the individual stories is so different from other things we've heard about and read, but to read it and know that it took place in my lifetime was a completely different experience. This is not some long-ago removed story, and the author makes it clear that it isn't for him, either. It's compelling and horrifying. I highly recommend reading this book.
