I did not know this was a 3rd book in a series, but from what I read it seems it doesn't matter. This should have been a quick read, but I read two books in the middle of this one. Most of the book is just following a confused human child being raised by an alien and not being properly communicated to. The end made a lot of sense and I did like the ending, it made the rest of the book make more sense. I probably won't reread this book in the future. This was the first book by this author I have read, but I won't judge on this one book. In the future I'll try to come back to this author and give them another try, but with a different title. Their books always seem to have interesting plots.

Thorn reminded me a lot of Bren from the Foreigner series, which was pleasant!
