Toxic parent relationships that reinforce the idea that parents are justified in lying and that offspring are responsible for protecting their lies/feelings. We need to normalise calling parents out for shitty behaviour rather than reward the gaslighting. There's no excuse for hiding or minimising genetic relationships.
