I really loved this book when I started it, but felt that it lost me a bit as it went on. The writing is beautiful though, and I enjoyed the modernist experimentation of it - the use of footnotes and 'found' materials really made you question the whole of idea of what is true in a narrative. It reminded me a little of Nabakov's Pale Fire, but the characters were just that little bit less engaging.
