One of his duller efforts. I don't know if the descriptions of forced kinky sex are supposed to be funny, but actually they are just... worrying!

Tremendously gory and rather captivating but ultimately not satisfying. The reader shouldn't guess the resolution as early as I did.

Ben Elton is one twisted dude.

That said, "Popcorn" still ranks among my favorites and I will keep trying his books!

I really enjoyed the story and I liked that bullying was one of the main subjects as it is not talked about as much as it should be but I am knocking off a star because I did not enjoy reading about the Detectives perverse and obsessive thoughts about his colleague throughout the whole book.

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this book! having only read inconceivable before and hearing that this was a crime novel made me a bit sceptical but I was proved wrong! Warning - incredibly graphic sex scene however...
