A great story of a girl maturing beyond her years and realizing that growing up means that you may not keep the friends you start with and not everyone is good for you. Also it teaches kids to be yourself and the real friends will follow!

A very worthy follow-up to Real Friends. The best children's graphic novel that is at least loosely based on the author's life and struggles of being a tween girl that I have read in the past month (yes, there have been multiple).

Real Friends and Best Friends are THE books/graphic novels for middle school girls. TEN OUT OF TEN recommend- friendship issues, school issues, new “crush” issues, anxiety, jealousy, family struggles, etc etc! Told with honesty & authenticity- 100% know that grade 5-7 girls will love these books and will relate to every situation!

I wanted to like this book, but there is no real plot and the characters are not growing or learning from their lives, even though they are a year older. There is no character development and I am not sure there is much to recommend this book, other than amazing art.

This was just as good as the first one, and even made me cry at one point. I wish I'd had this at the end of elementary school, I dealt with a lot of the same problems as Shannon. I'll be pushing this into many kids' hands, I'm sure!
