I feel like a hater for not *loving* this. It seems like the majority of people do. There was just something about it that didn’t click with me.
I loved the cast and the story idea, it was just the pacing and the style that I didn’t like. It seemed to jump around from event to event, with little space to breathe in between. I guess that’s normally good, but like I said, something didn’t click.
Also, absolutely CRIMINAL that there is a lesbian interspecies relationship that we only get ONE closeup scene of?? What the FUCK. Also thought it was v sad and fucked up that Lovey died. U can’t kill a love interest :(

I loved this book, every character was adorable and I loved the world. I'm excited to read the rest of the books in this world, but I'm not sure any of them could surpass this one.

I considered giving this book a 4.75 because of some dull patches about halfway through, but I really couldn't justify that. The characters were so fun, the worldbuilding was so dynamic and creative, and the style of the prose really lent itself to both lightheartedness and emotional gravity. Just a super well-done scifi romp.

A really relaxing, wholesome read, just a bunch of warm fuzzy friends chilling across the galaxy.
Be warned that there is not much action going on here, not a big plot, or any heavy scifi, its just something to give yourself a break with in my opinion.

The only thing I was really annoyed about, is the sex in this book.
If you want your characters to have sex, just make them have sex. There is literally NO reason to make it weird and forced and rapey. No reason at all, we could have just had wholesome gay sex, everybody would have liked that.
