It started off quite nice and interesting, I was actually looking forward to the rest... but soon it stopped. Claire apparently has a death wish (because hey there are bullies, just go to them and wave aka go to class while there are people who want to kill you *rolls eyes*), and is also quite negative about herself. Being smart is not bad, girl, really it isn't.

Also a town run by vampires... and 2% or so of the college kids just disappear and no one apparently cares that it happens every year? Wow.. those kids must be hated or have no friends/parents/people who care about them.

Mostly a jumble of plot holes and melodramatics, this vampire adventure does sport some sympathetic characters that I would be interested to follow if the overall writing was better. I’m a fan of Caine’s Stillhouse Lake series, but this one fell short for me.

Good enough to finish the first book, not to my taste enough to read the sequels. Enjoyable story, but I'm not YA enough for the characters.

I devoured glass houses in one sitting, once I started I didn't want to stop. It was a really interesting take on vampires. It made Texas seem very creepy, but it also had an edge to it I loved. On top of that it had characters that were easy to relate to and easy to love. I think this is gonna be a very good series.
