Still enjoying this series!

This one was better to me than the last - they've introduced some intrigue and questions that make me consider what's really going on (and I hope they follow through with that).

As usual, lovely illustrations. Can't decide whether I appreciate introducing characters that are basically modified versions of the characters in the movie (I'd be fine with Marie going on the journey by herself, but I know that the assorted archetypes in the movie are much of what people enjoy so much about it).

Absolutely continuing!

I read the three of these I currently have at once so I might as well review them in one go. Otherwise they’d be two sentence reviews, really.

Of all the plot that’s developing in the story so far I’m most interested in how the owl goblin king used Maria’s husband against her. It’s already been revealed that he’s (the husband) basically an incredibly shallow man who will do anything to maintain his position, including forfeit his own child. So the alluding they’ve done so far to that is really interesting.

And while Maria’s story does parallel Sarah’s quite a bit (although I think that’s the point, they even pretty much point it out in the comics themselves), I’m still enjoying it. I’m enjoying the different character of Maria and Jareth’s backstory and all the other corners of the Labyrinth that haven’t been seen. The comics are far darker than the original movie was so I’m doubly digging that.

I’m halfway through the series at this point and I eagerly await what comes next!
