Michael Jay's solo works just keep growing on me! While at times it can be confusing and difficult to keep memory flashbacks and present events straight, it is still understandable and the reader can grasp the importance of those flashbacks. Aaron's powers continue to develop and strengthen, and though it can be concerning that there's a danger of him becoming a Mary Sue character, the author still maintains set limits and creates multiple situations where Aaron has to rely on others to save him. For me, this keeps Aaron a relatable character and away from the kind of character that is so powerful, there doesn't appear to be any real danger or conflict. Aaron most definitely faces many dangers, ones that can actually threaten his life. There were also plenty of twists to keep you on your toes and definitely an ending that keeps you wanting more. I know I can't wait for the next book!
