Although I didn't try any of the recipes before the book was due back at the library, Nick Evans had an excellent set of suggestions about organizing your meal plans, and the kinds of essentials to have in your pantry to create a range of distinct dishes with the same base ingredients.
I really like the format of this book. Each chapter starts with a recipe for making your future leftover (chicken, potatoes, rice, flank steak), then follows up with follow-up recipes. And the ideas actually sound REALLY good. I finally have a use for the rice noodles and fish sauce I've been itching to cook with.
Though some of the chapters feel wasted to me. Lentils? Tofu? Do people really have leftovers of that in abundance?
