The S stands for hope. The bat stands for a bat. Best line for a great story. Watching the couples do such a mundane thing as going to a carnival should have been boring, but Tom King did an amazing job and made it something special. I love this series.

How do you make a double date issue with Supes, Bats, and their gals even better?

Gotham County Fair Greeter: "I'm sorry, but it is what it is, all right. It's rules. Superhero night. Got to be a superhero to come in. And you all ain't superheroes." *kicking them out*
*the squad in their street clothes looking at this mofo*

But how does THAT get better?

They not only go "in costume" but switch costumes.

My dudes, get a hold of this Christmas gift, because it was WONDERFUL.

Love this issue with Clark and Lois! Batman is my favorite superhero of all time and I'm trying to devour as many issues as possible :)

It is truly stunning what King can do with the form. This kind of character stuff is where his style works best. I dread the day we go back to the same old villain battle bullshit. I do wish the artist here were a bit more interesting. Lois's pose in the second panel of the issue made me so angry.

Too much personal stuff and no action at all, in the last one the bonding was good, but it also was enough, just go back to more action, villains, and Batman stuff. Because in that one, it's just Batman/Superman Catwoman/Lois hanging out in a carnival... so...

An excellent story about two friends hanging out together with their significant others. Explores friendships new and old, with quite a few memorable panels.
