I just learned about this (probably a hashtag-type-challenge) thing, which goes something like: read an entire chapbook/poetry collection every day for all of August.

(and to be honest, I know nothing more about it than the fact that someone made it a thing, and my post-grad degree is over at the end of the week, and the rest of August is stretching out ahead waiting to be filled with something that will soothe the sudden loss of all this stress and joy and muchness and so... a poetry collection/chapbook a day it is)

except I decided to do this at approximately 11pm on August 1st and so suddenly had to cast around for something short enough that I could read it before midnight without rushing, because that is my least favourite way to cope with poetry, and I'm really glad of that sudden deadline because it meant I remembered that though I've read Lehua M. Taitano's (incredible) full length collection [b:Inside Me An Island|43712240|Inside Me An Island|Lehua M. (and it really, really was the perfect time to read this, gut-punch/closed-throat/sob-swallowing time to read this) and all I'm really ramblings towards saying emphatically is: if you haven't read Taitano's poetry yet, start. Immediately.
