El final es realmente satisfactorio, y definitivamente fue agradable compartir el viaje con David Charleston.

This ends the trilogy of the Reckoners. The first novel was the better of the series, with the freshest of ideas, however, this wraps things up nicely. I could see this becoming a film at some point in the future, and though it is mostly a young adult novel from the feel and main hero, it has enough action and fighting to be put in a theater next to any of the Marvel films.

I typically go into young adult novels mentally braced for disappointment. As I read Steelheart, I could feel my brain trying to dislike it because many young adult novels have unbearable male protagonists, agonizing romances, and cliched plots that are easily guessed and frustrating to plow through. That isn't the Reckoners series, though. David is a great character who grows, the plot wasn't completely transparent, and hell, I even like Megan (such a badass), which is the greatest triumph of all! In the end, I really, really liked this series. It's a very strange feeling, but a good one.

Just like Babilar in the previous book, Sanderson's crumbling salt city of Ildithia is fascinating setting that was really fun to explore.

Something notable to me was the humor and realistic dialogue from the characters. Some novels that take a casual approach to the prose and mood often comes off as sloppy in execution and sarcastic in tone, trying to be funny or real and instead entering the territory of painful to read. Sanderson maintains a sense of humor and a feeling of real personalities with his dialogue that isn't sloppy by any means, such as David's awful metaphors and Knighthawk's whole self ("No, my name was stupid. So I use this one instead"). I can hardly explain how much I appreciate that.

Though a quick read, I've been pleasantly surprised by this series and will likely check out more of Sanderson's work.

I really liked this book, I thought that it answered all the questions raised by previous books in a very unexpected manner. I couldn't put it down. Very worth the read!

This was a great finale to a really fun series. It shows The breadth of Sanderson's talent. I was wanting to read them to my children but some of the material isn't appropriate for children (a few fairly gruesome descriptions, some swearing). Although I saw most of the ending to the series coming a mile away, there was part of the ending that completely took me by surprise. It was a very satisfying ending to a great series. Well worth reading.
