A fun little story about a great ATLA character. I like that not everything was all sunshine and rainbows here-- there is betrayal without real consequences, as sometimes happens in life. Not everybody will learn some great lesson.

honestly given how the atla writers dealt with suki in the original (don't get me wrong I adore her but she still deserved better from the writers), I'm not at all surprised at how pointless this was. I enjoyed reading more about suki's past and just kyoshi island as a whole, but... that's pretty much all this had going for it. the boiling rock didn't feel as threatening as it was in the show, and I think they should have done all the additional suki information/characterisation in the show instead of relying on outside material to flesh her out even the slightest bit more. overall it was redundant and pointless despite how much I love suki.
