4-4.5. It's not bad, I just don't remember the first one very well so I was pretty confused. I thought it was a bit boring.sometimes, but that's because it's a children's book. It wasn't slow, it stayed fast paced, but the plot wasn't exactly captivating. I blame that on the fact that its been years since I read the first one. It would be a good movie. Some parts were really lame lol not bad I guess? It was okay.

I liked this book, but I didn't like it as much as the first one. The characters and dialogue felt a bit more stiff, and I found myself questioning a few aspects of how the Wild worked.

Other than that, though, it was good! Fun story, and I enjoyed all the allusions to fairy tales.

Out of the Wild by Sarah Beth Durst is the sequel to Into the Wild. I, personally, enjoyed Out of the Wild as much, if not more, than the first book. It begins with Northsboro recovering from The Wild taking over and Julie's life finally being back to normal; however, that can't last too long. Next thing Julie knows, The Wild eats one of the Three Blind Mice, but instead of growing, spits out her father! But to Julie's surprise, her dad doesn't want to sit around and be a normal family- instead he wants to continue being a hero and leaves almost immediately to try and save a princess. Julie, trying to stop him, follows and goes on a humorous and action-packed adventure across America.

5 stars!

A let down after the first book. Still very good story, just not as good as the first.

I had a harder time getting into this one than the 1st book, and have no idea if all readers could catch up on the people and places without having read #1. Both are worth a look and read for fantasy/YA lit lovers.

I got an ARC for this -- it's not even out yet -- and I loved every minute reading it. A great adventure story, a fascinating look at choice and freedom and responsibility and a intriguing use of fairy tales. Highly recommended.

Very simplistic easy storyline. Fluff basically. But if you like books about fairy tale characters, this definitely fits the bill.

The Wild is trying to take over again. Julie sets out on a Quest to save the world and her family again.

This one was easier to understand and enjoyable as children's lit.
