This guy is my hero. I've never seen so much blistering, left-field hatred in my life.

This book is both painfully true and utterly hilarious. My lack of a television means I preferred the chapters on social commentary rather than his TV columns, but that doesn't stop them being side splittingly funny. If you were less of a grumpy recluse then you might not appreciate Brooker's dry wit but personally I love it.

Reading so many rantings in a row is a little over the top and depressing. They're also outdated now and since I've never been a fan of any of the popular shows he's reviewing I have no idea what some of the pieces are about. Some, however, are spot on today.

Just as good as the first collection of columns, very funny.

I have to say I am a huge Charlie Brooker fan and this book is not for those who do not appreciate sardonic and scathing wit. It is a collection of his various Screen Burn and Guardian columns and as such the reader is rewarded by dipping in and out rather than a full straight read through. It was a pleasure to revisit his rants and obscure thoughts, I do miss Screen Burn.

I must admit I didn't finish this book. I adore Charlie Brooker and I think if I had read this book at the time it was written I would have been able to finish it, but reading about Big Brother contestants from over 5 years ago just got tedious and I couldn't go on.

I don't think this is a book that dates well.
