I'm not sure how I got through sixteen years of formal education without being forced to read this book, but it was the best used-book-store $2.50 I've ever spent. Unexpectedly engaging, sublimely disturbing -- especially when you realize how applicable its themes still are today.

It took me almost half the book to get into it, but once I was in I liked it. I heard that it was one of the best books ever written, though I don't think I agree with that statement, it was an interesting read about a woman who is bored with her life who enters into an adulterous relationship.
