I never read it as a kid but I wish I had. A lovely accessible intro to Neil Gaiman’s writing for younger readers (if they’re brave enough)

One: love the art
Two: I've watched the Stop motion movie of this YEARS ago and my teen soul loved it to the core.
Three:(considering it being kids book) it's sorta weird, sometimes disgusting, but good creepy.

I didn't like the ending tho, it's NOT the end. Not a good decision to be made at all.
I should get the other version think it's not for kids, its cover is black. Maybe it's better ending.

What an amazing book. I remember watching the movie as a kid, in the cinema, in 3D and ITS LIKE I COULD FEEL THE BUTTONS BEING STITCHED TO MY EYES AHHHHHHHHH. I'm still freaked out, it makes me sick thinking about some putting a needle in my eye and stitching a button to them. But that's what I love about it, it's a super creepy children's book. What struck me as quite good was the writing, it's so simple, but yet so poetic through the view point of a child. The prose just fit the character, Coraline so well. I'm definitely going to be reading some more Gaiman, I have Stardust on my shelf so I might read that next.
