I really enjoyed learning about and even empathizing with the villain from previous stories.

Oofty wish I would've skipped this one. Levana is the worst, and her husband didn't deserve anything that happened to him

This was written so well that I almost had to DNF it. Reading this is like watching a car crash come to life in slow motion, you know it's awful and will go very very badly but you just can't look away.
The only feeling I have left with is pity...

I thought this book would bring sympathy to Queen Levana, but it didn't really. Though I do understand her motive now. I didn't think I would enjoy this book, but I did. A fascinating backstory in the world we've grown to love so much. The author created a marvelous villain.

It was a different take than I expected, but honestly, I wished for more. Like. It was okay. But just okay.
