This took me by complete storm and I don’t know if I’ll ever recover from it. I am completely in love with these characters and universe and I truly, genuinely could not fathom having getting to never read this in my lifetime-

I never thought Anastasia would get a retelling, let alone one this cool and chaotic. How long until the sequel!?

Slightly illogical AI future story where the Iron Throne is up for grabs, if you're the right bloodline. Quickly paced, quick friendships and lasting results of an attempt to take over the throne change the life of a girl with burn scars on her face and a best friend who may never love her as much as she loves it. At the same time, a prince can never do enough to be loved as his brother is - only because he believes in doing the right thing.

Interesting, but I'm not sure I want to read the next one. Big kudos for gay characters and the mains being not-white-people.

Sadly I didn't care for this one. It made me think of the Cinder series that Marissa Meyers wrote but it wasn't as good as it. It also made me think 0f Seafire in a way. The story went on and on and had too many things going on.

I enjoyed this more the second read through.

Hmmm what to say about this book.

First off, I really enjoyed it. Was it the best written story of all time? not really no. But, It was exciting, and the pacing was great. I felt like I flew through the pages. I could see this as a really fun movie or tv show, and I'd be excited to watch it if that ever were the case.

It was a little predictable so that detracted from it. Also the writing wasn’t the sharpest, but....

Characters were fun, and I enjoyed the way the chapters were laid out. Perspectives changing every few pages. It kept the story going and me reading.

Over all sort of meeeeh fun but meeeeh /shrug

I will eventually read the sequel. My expectations aren’t super high.
