Disappointing

I am a fan of the first two books, and the third is ok, but I'm still waiting for a character arc. If anyone reads this short as an introduction, I fear they won't go back to read Hereafter.

It was full of telling masked as exposition that made it boring to read. It unfortunately relied on the white foreigner and white savior narrative. Irene is able to not only get a Thai ghost killed trying to help her be the one to save them, but she learns everything in one or two days on her own with no experience, and his death fuels her motivation, so also the sacrificial minority trope is used. It was off-putting, unbelievable, and instantly disconnected me from the story.

To make matters worse, there were a lot of typos and missing words. I had to re-read several sentences. This needed a few looks before it should have been allowed out.
