Rounded up from 3.75, the average of my ratings of the issues included.

The Batman mainline issues here are really, really solid; I particularly enjoyed having villains I can actually dislike (I.E. that dude who uses cop-hater as an insult, politicians in general, etc) on principle, and I loved the dynamic between Batman & Ghost-Maker continuing to get improved upon. Harley’s inclusion was great, too.

I was kind of thrown off by the Infinite Frontier #1 inclusion because I’m not caught up on the multiverse stuff, but I suppose that’s on me.

Tynion continues to flesh out the cast with some unique characters. Two of them introduced in this trade, Miracle Molly and the Gardener, are probably my favorites from this run. Check out Fear State: Secret Files for more on them. This trade feels mostly like buildup and filler, and I have no issues with filler if it’s fun, but this was missing something that I can’t put my finger on. It was just sort of dull. The art by Jimenez and team is incredible though.

Finally it feels like Tynion IV’s run is worth reading (even though it will be ending after Fear State). I really enjoyed the writing for this arc, and the pages look gorgeous thanks to Jimenez’s art and Morey’s colours.

I’d totally read an ongoing of Miracle Molly and Squeak, really want to see lots more of them!
