OMG! First issue and I'm officially obsessed. COYOTES is about a band of women fighting back against shape-shifting wolves/coyotes that are hunting and killing them. After her mother and sister were killed, Red (formerly Analia) runs off with her best friend, Eyepatch and joins the Duchesses' group, where she learns how to fight like a samurai. The first issue start with Red standing in a room full of corpses and gets more gruesome as it goes on-definitely not for the faint of heart and rated M for a reason. This is NOT a children's comic.

Started issue #2 and realized I had no memory of this first one. I'm hoping now that I've read it twice I won't forget next time. 😕

The idea is interesting, in particular the use of the wolf like coyotes who may or may not be more than they seem. I like the use of a diverse cast.
