This is so, so beautiful. Possibly one of the best graphic novels I've ever had the pleasure of reading. I love the way the story weaves together so many real-life themes and problems into the fairytales. The Magic Fish tackles coming out, coming of age, identity, immigration, family, language, connecting, loss, grief, and love - in all shapes - in the most beautiful, evocative way. The art and color palette is stunning, and the message overall just totally heartwarming.

I do not have the words for how absolutely gorgeous this novel is. I read it in one sitting because I could not stop. Why oh why have I been sleeping so hard on graphic novels?!?
