I did not expect this to be good and was hooked within the prologue. The world created here, or really worlds, is complex, intricate and exists almost like its own character, shaping each person and group in the story. The character growth is gradual and realistic, the dialogue engaging and adult, and the pacing simply does not allow it to be put down. Am eagerly starting the second.

I was under the mistaken impression there was only two books to this series so when it became obvious this wouldn't end things I was annoyed, but frankly the story was so good I got over it and am eagerly anticipating where Sanders goes next. Finding out the real history of the broken worlds is startlingly emotional and makes the "worlds-as character" attempt here even more impressive. The central character continues to impress in both the slow and real changes experience is forcing him to. As well, the supporting characters shift and become greater people in their own right, a point not many authors can do well. The ending is satisfying, brutal, darkly foreboding and with just a smidgen of goodness to make me want to raise my fist and tell Sanders to get on with the writing.

DaVaun Sanders effortlessly took me to the land of Shard and beyond. His descriptions were not overbearing, but enough to acquaint me with the other worlds and creatures as if they were real.

Just be ready. You will want to pick up Part 2 as soon as you've finished Part 1!

I received this book for free through Goodreads First Reads.

Fantastic!

With the capture of the Seedbearer, Nassir and Lurec must attempt to save him and prevent the triumph of the ancient enemy!

In Part II of “The Seedbearing Prince”, DaVaun Saunders continues the engaging and rather unique tale of the Belt World. With the many cultures introduced in the first novel I wondered if there could be room for more, but the author incorporates these new characters effortlessly into the storyline. We also learn about the origins of the World Belt and the Thar’Kuri enemy!

Like the first novel I found it very difficult to put down as I immersed myself in this rich and complex universe. Overall this is another well written adventure which I would recommend to fans of Science Fiction and Fantasy!
