Really interesting narrative structure but I wish it was twice as long; the story kind of flies over all the most interesting parts of the story.

I think there could’ve been just a little bit more to really round out this book, both in message and in story, especially in the last few acts. I wish we could’ve gone just a tad deeper! But still, I love gimmicks in books especially when they’re actually well-written lol so this was very fun to breeze through

A really interesting conceit that I want to wrap my head around more, perhaps on a reread in a discussion group. Although marketed as humorous, I actually found this book quite depressing and serious. I think I need more time with this one to formulate a final opinion.

This novel tells the story of the humble life of Willis Wu, an Asian-American who has the dream of being “Kung Fu Guy,” a stereotypical asian acting role. He describes his acting and personal careers as filled with many roles, presented by pre-existing stereotypes.

This book is certainly very thought provoking, and I feel like there are many things I can take apart. The whole book seems like a blend of imagination and reality, and the extent of its reality can be debated upon. Brings to thought many interesting topics, and has many emotion-inducing passages.
