I ate this up.
It took me a wee bit to get into because of the writing style.
There were some absolutely incredible lines, it was funny, honest, hilariously observational, all while illuminating the Asian- American experience

Interior Chinatown is a fantastic exploration of self image and interpersonal relationships, exploring the systematic racism in place in the United States, ranging from Hollywood to immigration policy through an analog of movie tropes and stereotypes.

I read this book extremely fast, I was hooked from the very beginning. Having it formatted as a screenplay seems like a gimmick at first but I found it to actually be a really clever way of creating this sense of the narrator's emotional distance from the people in his life and lent a feeling of unreality to everything.

This book doesn't hold its punches, or refrain from sliding a stiletto between your ribs, but it's so well done that you can't help admiring the skill involved.

This is such an interesting read for it not be that long. I listened to it over the course of two days, mainly while cooking and cleaning and that made me experience it very differently compared to how I experienced it last time. The voice actor did a phenomenal job at capturing the energy of the performance and only made it so much better. Lovely writing Mr. Yu!
