I enjoyed this enough I may pick up the other books in the series. While reading in order may be better, I wasn’t lost at all. Though there’s some mystery the focus is really the characters.

i liked this book better than book 1 but it was also good to see james and seth again. obviously we get more rhys and dal and we also get more of what i'm guessing are future characters - adrian, simon and alex.

we finally learned what rhys did to upset chase so much and why chase wasn't fond of the big man. both of their opinions of each other were based on previous experiences and preconceived notions, not actual fact. as they get to know each other better, they realize how right they are for each other and attempt a relationship. it takes some work getting there though. chase is surprisingly dominant in the bedroom and rhys is extremely protective of his new man. i love the endearment rhys has for chase and how sweet they are with each other.

there still seemed to be a bit of awkward dialog in this one but it was much better than book 1. i'm anxious to read more about dal and alex!

Probably a 2.5* but not a book I ever got into.
This may be because I didn't read book 1 and there was obviously history between Chase and Rhys from that book, though I thought it did stand well on it's own.
I did like that Rhys was Welsh, enjoy seeing 'locals' in the action!
I did also enjoy that whilst Chase gives off the twink like image, he is very dominant in a relationship.
I felt it was a bit too choppy for me, couldn't get invested in the tale. And whilst there was the murder element it was very quiet until it really did come and thump you in the face (or ribs if you are Chase).

I loved this book as much as the first of the series. It is always great when authors keep past characters involved in the next story. We also got to meet new characters. This book was full of surprises as well as lots of love and romance. I look forward to more to come in the series and hope to continue to have past characters involved in future stories. I give it 5 stars
