I've had an interest in this subject for quite some time, heightened by the fact that I recently learned I have an ancestor who was accused of witchcraft in the days of Salem. This was a believable story that drew me in and made me want to read more.

Definitely a great read. Rinaldi throws you into one of the most realistic and gripping versions of Salem. She has a talent for making you live the characterizations and experiencing worlds sometimes forgotten, this is one of the best examples of that.

3.5 stars- I'm glad I picked this one up and that a friend lent me In My Father's House. I enjoy her writing and love reading at the end about the research she put into the book, from the parts she added just for the sake of the story and the parts that were true. This probably won't be the last of hers that I read. Not sure how I missed these in school?

This book was actually a lot better than I thought it would be. As the story went on, it got better and better. Though it was a little confusing at first, I actually liked the format of the book, where it started with the end, and on the next page went back to the beginning. It is a fairly easy read... I read the last 70 pages in a little over half an hour. Though at times it can be a little distressing because there are those characters that you are just obliged to hate, and you do. Although my original intent was to read this book before we went to Salem (which was 3 years ago) it was nice to have read it after being there and learning a little about the trials.
