Love a good bodyguard moment with a radical bad ass FMC.

Maybe because it was a novella I read mostly in fits and starts, but this did not really do it for me. I found the development of the relationship to be very stop & go, and wanted a *lot* more tension than I feel like I got. However, the spicy scenes are hot, because, well, it's Talia Hibbert!

Anyone who’s read my reviews of Talia Hibbert books in the past will know what I’m about to write. I loved this. Her authorial voice and writing style just work for me. Everything clicks and I eat it all up. I thought Hibbert handled the age gap+secret pining+forbidden romance well here and at no point did I feel it got weird or creepy. I also really appreciated the cameos we got from other books she wrote around this time. James and Nina were adorable together.

 - Even in their novellas, Talia Hibbert is so good at quickly crafting an entire world and a believable couple within it.
- Nina is a classic Hibbert heroine, a woman with a bit of an edge, but soft and deeply loving once you get past that.
- Even in this barely-100-pages book, Hibbert manages to get in more spiciness than some other full length romance novels have!
