i’m trying to think of a cohesive and coherent review for this but like sorry this was so good.

i flew through this novel in one day, all 503 pages of it and i enjoyed every single one. i don’t know how to describe this book with any other word but delicious. made me rediscover how much i missed reading physical books for fun!!! (it has been so long bc of school but i’m finally free)

remy was truly such an enjoyable character i loved him and how he can’t shut up and how kind he is and he reminded me of me 🥺 if i was raised as an actual weapon and not just an academic one. i loved zidan and xiaodan sm and their journey w remy was sooooo delicious and fun and exhilarating to read about i love love!!! the plot kept me on the edge of my seat continuously, like it was just so fun to read!!!

god! this book was SO GOOD!!!! it had moments that made me close it bc i was like WOAHH there and it had me giggling and going ☹️☹️☹️ and it was great. this book reminded me how much i love fantasy and how much i love a side romance in fantasy and how much i love death being a key factor in fantasy OURGH!! too good. forever happy i won this is in a goodreads giveaway <3

ALSO i love a poc4poc couple which we GOT <3 and with all the mentioned of remys dark skin im claiming him as a poc too so basically we have a poc4poc4poc couple and i could not be more happy.

WHAT IN THE CASTLEVANIA VIBES?? I AM OBSESSED!

I've been putting off this book for a good couple years since it came out because my tbr was just stacked, IM SO ANNOYED I DIDN'T GET TO IT SOONER.

This was EVERYTHING! The lore was really interesting, I loved the main characters, the side characters, the world building...all of it. The plot honestly had me hooked from like the first chapter, I seriously tried my best not to consume this all in one go. The dynamic in both ally and romance between the main 3 characters was fascinating and you don't see much poly in mainstream books so this was a unique plotpoint. Overall though all the twists, the turns, the gore, the battles...just all of it was impeccably written!

Hoping I get to the sequel faster than i did this one!
