I enjoyed it so much going back to the world of "Inkheart". (While my review is in English, I did read all the books in the original German - first when I was a teenager and now again).
I loved to return to Ombra and new regions of this world and Cornelia Funke's writing style is - as always - a pleasure; an easy read with lots of colours and senses and pictures, a very rich world that opens up its doors to the reader.
Unfortunatey, I did not like Orpheus as a villain!
To me it seemed like Funke did not want him to go fully evil - his redeeming characteristics keep coming back without the chance of a redemption arc. He is such a sad villain that one must still hate. I would have loved to see him develop either into fully evil (no love for Staubfinger left) or give him at least a tiny redemption arc in the end (or the chance of one, once he is back in his original world.)

In general, die ending did leave me a little unsatisfied (maybe simply because I yearned for more about all the old main characters) but I loved the new character of Lilia and I am hoping for more stories about her.
4.25 stars out of 5 for me - only big minus for me was Orpheus' missing character development.
