National Treasure but more human sacrifice and homosexuality.

Definitely feels like one of Euripides' weaker works but maybe that translation just wasn't for me

Here the lord of the country, the barbarian Thoas, rules his barbarians. His name means swift. He is wing-footed, and his speed makes good the name. He has established me as a priestess in this shrine. There are rituals here; the goddess Artemis is pleased with them: a holy service: only the name is good. I must not tell the details, for I fear the god, but I sacrifice, by custom known before my time in the state, any Greek man who comes upon this shore I dedicate them: the real killing is left to others, and done in secret in the temple of this god.

Loved this play, loved the translation - love Euripides.
