The book is meh. The main characters are a bit immature. And having Collins put her HOA-campaign related mail INTO people’s mailboxes annoyed me. You cannot do that unless you paid postage!!!!! It’s the number one rule I tell all the folks when I run canvasses. The second they were canvassing, I knew it would happen. Plus, the romance just happens so suddenly and it felt like it was basically out of nowhere: bam, Collins remembers all these old feelings and she’s going to act on them. Dear lord. I love a romance just as much as the next person, but even that was too unrealistic for me. And with Collins being as outspoken as she is… she would have confronted Nate so much earlier in the book to find out what happened all those years ago. For real. But also, it’s a book so you gotta suspend reality. But on the other hand, there should always be something realistic in there… this book had a good premise, but the story just wasn’t for me.

Did not like how the MC talked to Ashleigh and her parents. Had a hard time getting past that!
