Heartwarming, even at its most tearful moments. Appreciated the spirituality of this novel, the dreams, the belief in and nurturing of ancestors and intuition. If I could live inside this warm story, I would. There was not one character I didn’t like... well, maybe the homophobic ones. Felt a little dubious of the “two butterflies” moment, but otherwise, simply adored my time with Mabel, Audre, and their families and friends.

This book is really special, unlike any YA I’ve ever read before. Highly recommend.
