A really thoughtful unpacking of the way Harry Potter has become soured by JK Rowling's aggressive transphobia, and the pain in juggling how much the series has meant to people.

Author complains that material setting up fake history in a fantasy magic world wasn't faithful enough to our reality (even though the story doesn't take place in our reality). Author was angry that Rowling didn't feel the need to apologize for this nonexistent crime. Of course, she goes on to complain about J.K. Rowling's sex-based feminism, which I was expecting. The conclusion is that enjoying Rowling's work is allowed because she doesn't want to give up her mega fan obsession. Amazing to me how someone can read a book series so many times, and still not get it. Rowling isn't the Voldemort in this story.
